FATHERS AND FRIENDS
Fathers and Friends, which was
created in 1958, meets on the last Monday of each month at 8:00
pm in the cafeteria. Our purpose is to provide financial
support to supplement and to enhance the athletic programs and
facilities of Mater Dei. Often times, our fathers also provide
the physical labor required to complete our special projects.
In addition to two “Special
Projects” raffles per year and our monthly raffles, we sponsor
either game ball raffles or 50/50 drawings at athletic events.
In the spring, we host both a breakfast and a bowling
tournament. Our weekly Bingos, held each Tuesday throughout the
year, is our largest fundraiser. As a result of these
activities, we have recently provided funding for stadium lights
and a new press box at the athletic stadium, renovations to both
the baseball and softball fields, bleachers for the main gym, a
score board for the new gym, and renovations to the patio.
