Several students, faculty, and staff members who purchased "Go Ham or Go Home" T-shirts to raise money for the Weinberg Family pose for a photo before school. Mrs. Christine Gramann presents a check for $3,700 to Kraig Weinberg, Kane's father.
The Mater Dei community came through in a big way to help the family of Kane Weinberg, the MD senior who was diagnosed with a form of leukemia. Student Council designed and sold T-shirts with “Go Ham or Go Home” and a football pig on them, highlighting Kane’s football toughness and his hobby showing pigs. With the proceeds from the T-shirt sales and the Student Council matching gift, Mater Dei was able to give a check to the Weinberg Family for $3,700, to be used for expenses during Kane’s three-year treatment period.
