The Mater Dei community is pleased to announce the Students of the Quarter for the second quarter of the 2024-2025 academic year. These students were selected by the administration and faculty from the list of students who earned honor roll recognition. Please join us in congratulating them and their families!
Senior Ben Pollmann, son of Jim and Angie Pollmann of Carlyle. Throughout his academic career, Ben has enrolled in multiple honors courses, including English Composition 101 and English Composition 102 as a senior. For his academic achievements, he has earned honor roll recognition for thirteen quarters and an academic letter his junior year. Outside the classroom, Ben is four-year member of the basketball team; a three-year member of FFA and National Honor Society; and a first-year member of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and Teens for Life. Finally, Ben is a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, where he serves as a Breese Youth Ministry member and Luke 18 confirmation retreat leader. Ben has not yet determined his plans following graduation.
Senior Kylie Voss, daughter of Scott and Theresa Voss of O’Fallon. Throughout her academic career, Kylie has enrolled in nearly all honors courses for English, math, and science, including Calculus, English Composition 101 and English Composition 102 as a senior. For her academic achievements, she has earned honor roll recognition for fourteen quarters, an academic letter her junior and sophomore year, and awards for Algebra II & Trigonometry Honors, Composition Honors, English I Honors, English II Honors, Geometry, Health, Physical Science Honors, and Spanish 101. Outside the classroom, Kylie is a four-year member of chorus, the fall play cast, St. Vincent de Paul Society (current vice president), Scholar Bowl, the spring musical cast, and Teens for Life (current president); a three-year member of Liturgical Music Group and National Honor Society; and a two-year member of the Academic Challenge in Engineering and Science (ACES) team and Sisters in Christ. She has received an Outstanding Musician award, as well as awards for the fall play, St. Vincent De Paul Society, and Teens for Life. Finally, Kylie is a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, where she serves as a youth group member. Following graduation, she plans to pursue a degree in chemistry but has not yet selected an educational institution.
Junior Will Meyer, son of Mark and Stacey Meyer of St. Rose. Since his freshman year, Will has enrolled in all honors courses for science. As a junior, his courses include Chemistry Honors and Pre-Calculus. For his academic achievements, he has earned honor roll recognition for ten quarters, an academic letter his sophomore year, and an award for Weightlifting and Conditioning. Outside the classroom, Will is a three-year member of the football team, National Honor Society, and Pep Club. For football, he earned the Pride Team Player of the Year award as a junior. Finally, Will is a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, where he serves as a Catholic Youth Ministry (CYM) member.
Junior Lindsey Boehning, daughter of Richard and Jennifer Boehning of Troy. Since her freshman year, Lindsey has enrolled in all honors courses for English, math, and science. As a junior, her courses include Advanced Placement (AP) American History, Chemistry Honors, English III Honors, and Pre-Calculus. For her academic achievements, she has earned honor roll recognition for ten quarters, an academic letter her sophomore year, and awards for P.E. II and Theology II. Outside the classroom, Lindsey is a three-year member of Pep Club and the volleyball team, including the 2024 IHSA Class 2A State Champion team; a two-year member of National Honor Society and Sisters in Christ; and a first-year member of Marketing Club.
Sophomore Jackson Zurliene, son of Curt and Maria Zurliene of Breese. In both his freshman and sophomore year, Jackson enrolled in honors courses for math. This year, his courses include Geometry Honors. For his academic achievements, he has earned honor roll recognition for six quarters. Outside the classroom, Jackson is a two-year member of the basketball team, Pep Club, and the track team. Finally, Jackson is a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church.
Sophomore Lillian Huebner, daughter of Terri Barrett-Hall of New Memphis. In both her freshman and sophomore year, Lillian enrolled in honors courses for English. This year, her courses include Biology Honors and English II Honors. For her academic achievements, she has earned honor roll recognition for six quarters. Outside the classroom, Lillian is a two-year member of Book Club, the newspaper staff, and the yearbook staff; and a first-year member of Student Council. Finally, Lillian is a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church.
Freshman Daniel Ratermann, son of Craig and Sarah Ratermann of Hoyleton. In his first year at Mater Dei, Daniel’s courses include English I Honors and Physical Science Honors. For his academic achievements, he has earned honor roll recognition for two quarters. Outside the classroom, Daniel is a member of the concert band, fall play cast, jazz band, marching band, pep band, Scholar Bowl, and the spring musical cast. Finally, Daniel is a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, where he serves as an altar server.
Freshman Brianna Hemker, daughter of Brian Hemker of Bartelso. In her first year at Mater Dei, Brianna’s courses include English I Honors and Physical Science Honors. For her academic achievements, she has earned honor roll recognition for two quarters. Outside the classroom, Brianna is a member of Book Club, chorus, concert band, the fall play cast, FFA, jazz band, Liturgical Music Group, marching band, the musical pit band, the newspaper staff, pep band, Scholar Bowl, and Student Council. She is also a member of Camp Ondessonk’s Loyal Lodge of Ondessonk and Tekakwitha. Finally, Brianna is a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church.
