Activities – Spanish Club

Moderator: Mrs. Amparo Wolden

The purposes of Spanish Club are to promote interest in and knowledge of the Hispanic culture and to provide opportunities to speak Spanish in an informal setting.

During meetings, which are held once a month during designated study hall periods, members are exposed to various aspects of Hispanic culture, including cuisine, music and dance, and holidays.  Moreover, when the opportunity arises, members attend an “off-campus” event to experience the culture firsthand.  Finally, in accordance with the Works of Mercy, Spanish Club hosts fundraisers to help families in need in our local communities.

All Mater Dei students, including those not enrolled in a Spanish course, are welcome to join Spanish Club at any time throughout the year.
