The purpose of FFA is to provide opportunities for students who are interested in the various aspects of the agriculture field. Through agricultural education, FFA prepares students for leadership, personal growth, and future career success; and assists them in discovering and further developing their talents. As a result, students gain tools needed to achieve real-world goals.
During meetings, which are held during designated study hall periods and outside of school (occasionally), members prepare for a variety of events, including field trips and competitions, as well as fundraisers and community outreach opportunities. Finally, long-term members have the opportunity to participate in Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects, which augment the agriculture courses by reinforcing academic concepts.
Per national FFA guidelines, for each year of membership, students must be enrolled in an agriculture course for at least one semester.
